Our story
We grow for the wow.
Sugoi Flower Farm is a small, queer, mixed Japanese American family farm in Tacoma, Washington — growing specialty cut flowers from seed, the regenerative way, for the pure joy of a bouquet that makes you gasp.
From seed, on purpose
It started with a name. Sugoi is the Japanese word for that involuntary wow — the sound you make when something is just… incredible. We thought: what if a flower could do that? So we started saving seeds and turned a corner of Tacoma into a field.
Everything here begins as a seed and is grown to harvest by hand, using regenerative practices that leave the soil better than we found it. No shortcuts, no flowers flown in from across the world — just fresh stems, cut that morning, grown down the street.
We’re a family farm, queer-owned and proudly ours. We grow for the folks who tend the field and the people who take a little wow home.
What we’re about
How we grow
Seed to stem
Every bloom starts as a seed in our hands and is grown to harvest right here — never flown in, never a mystery.
Regenerative
We farm to give back to the soil: cover crops, compost, and low-till beds that get healthier every single season.
Ours, proudly
A mixed Japanese American, queer-owned family farm. This land, these flowers, and this wow are proudly ours.

Say hi to the mascot
The whistling flower
Our little mascot says it all — a bloom caught mid-“ooh,” in the exact moment right before you say it too. She’s on our seal, our stickers, and every bouquet that leaves the farm. When you spot her at the market, you’ll know a little wow is close by.
